1. Who we are
Controller: Outbid Talent. Contact: qa@outbidtalent.com. This Policy explains what we collect when you use Outbid, why, and your rights. It is written for a global audience, including people in the EEA/UK (GDPR) and California (CCPA/CPRA rights to know, delete, and opt out of sale — we do not sell personal information).
2. Data we process
Account: email address from Firebase (Google or email link). Listings: the LinkedIn URL you submit (query and hash removed), category, name, about text, and optional photo. Payments: order amount, currency, status, and provider reference from Polar; Polar also processes card and billing data on its checkout — we do not store full card numbers. Technical: IP address in server logs, session cookie “sid”. If you write to us, the content of that email.
3. Why we process it
To run the leaderboard, accept payment, let you sign in after payment, send claim/outbid/admin messages, moderate listings, secure the Service, and meet legal duties. Legal bases where GDPR applies: contract (provide the Service), legitimate interests (security, moderation, logs), consent (optional cookies/analytics if asked), and legal obligation (accounting records).
4. Who else sees data
Polar — checkout, payment confirmation, and related tax/invoicing. Firebase — sign-in. Email delivery, if configured, — transactional mail. Hosting and database operators that run the site. We do not sell your email list. Public listings (name, about, photo, LinkedIn URL, category, amount paid, rank) are visible to anyone on the internet.
5. Cookies and similar
See the Cookie Policy. “sid” keeps you signed in. Browser storage holds cookie consent and, for email-link sign-in, a temporary email. Firebase may store its own auth state in the browser.
6. How long we keep it
Account and listings until you delete the account or we remove them under the Terms. Server logs for a limited security period. Payment rows are kept as needed for accounting and dispute handling; we do not keep card PANs.
7. Your rights
Access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, and portability where the law gives you those rights. In the EEA/UK you may complain to a supervisory authority. California residents may request to know or delete personal information we hold. Use the account delete control or email qa@outbidtalent.com. We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context advertising.
8. Children and international use
The Service is not for anyone under 18. Do not submit data about children. The Service may be hosted outside your country. By using it you understand that data may be processed in other countries with different laws, using safeguards required where applicable (for example the processors’ standard contractual clauses).

The version on this page is current. Material changes will appear here.
